Although, we are sad to see Roger Middleton step down from the Presidency, we are excited to see that our new President will be Linda Pirtle. She has a history which includes being a teacher and principal in the school industry. As a published author, her mystery books, one of which is The Majong Murders, based around games and a spunky lady nondetective. Last year, she served on the Board as Vice President and did an excellent job as she also served on the Conference Committee. We look forward to 2017 with her at the helm.
After eight years of service on the Board, Marvin Mayer decided to retire from his office. In his place will be Marilyn Herrington Grounds. We are excited and welcome her to the job of Treasurer.
Nancy Larson, who has been on both the Conference Committee and served in various capacities under Board Service, has been elected Vice President. She is a multiple published author of several books in her Galveston Series, and a book in her, Carson Chance, Detective series. Her background in business and her talented networking abilities make her ideal for the job of providing relevant and knowledgeable speakers for the organisation.
So—Fasten your seatbelts everyone as we take off into 2017. May the Force be with us!
