About the East Texas Writers Guild
Since its formation in May 2004, the primary purpose of the East Texas Writers Guild has been to offer support, education, and an opportunity for publication to all East Texas writers. We strive to promote the interests of our members by helping them to improve their writing skills and successfully market their work.
Soon after I started writing my first book, I joined ETWG because I realized I lacked important skills to successfully complete the task. Networking with authors, editors and accomplished writers was the solution to my inexperience. Without ETWG, I wouldn’t have been a published author. ~ Tom Collins
ETWG will help you write better. The monthly presentations on everything from poetry to ax murders covers many structural and research topics. Most importantly are the people with whom you can find a critique group, exchange your work and get feedback from other writers. ~ W.D. Edmiston
East Texas Writers Guild has been my “go-to” refuge for all things WRITING since it’s inception in May, 2004–21 years of socializing with fabulous new writer friends, learning about the behind-the-scenes workings of being an author, knowing what an editor does, and the ins and outs of the publishing world. My book, Wind-Free, became a reality because of ETWG. Other members now boast of multiple publications, many award-winning, because of this great group. We are always open to receiving new members (hint, hint!). Come check us out. Second Monday of each month at the Tyler Chamber of Commerce building. ~ Pat La Vigne
