The meeting was called to order at 6:36 PM by President Lisa Holcomb.
April Coker reviewed the conference speakers, Kathryn McClatchey, Joe Lansdale, Caleb Pirtle, and Tex Thompson, as noted on the evaluation forms submitted by those attending the conference.
From a total of 19 forms, the results were as follows:
Opportunity to ask questions: Excellent—18; Good—1
Facilities: Excellent—18; Good—1
Materials: Excellent—16; Good—3
Presenters: Excellent—19
Author announcements: Laura Bentz reported that the prize she had received at the conference was “just what I needed. Janice Conlee announced she would be attending a writing conference in Dallas the following week.
April Coker was designated to send out announcements of interest to all Guild members.
Birthdays for July honored Lydia Holley and Katharine Pinotti,
The Open Mic program for the evening entailing several volunteers reading their
own stories in a 3-5 minute span of time was enjoyed by all.
