PASSAGES

I called to my children and they answered me
Then went about being what they wanted to be

The winter rains came and the summer burned bright
The long breeze of autumn and the soft spring night
Time was but water and I was the tears
Seamless the webbing the passage of years
Drifting through day bright that rushed from the dawn
Garbled and giddy then suddenly gone

I called to my children and they answered me
Then went about being what they were to be
